RAFA MACARRÓN

This “laboratory of ideas” incursion into the Art World, count on the infinite talent of the Spanish artist Rafa Macarrón.

His art is fluid, fresh, playful and harmonious. Influenced by the Spanish painting of the 50s and 60s and also by abstract expressionism, Macarrón becomes a reference of our time painting, both nationally and internationally.

Catalina D’Anglade has always admired the painter Rafa Macarrón, so this handmade collection is born presenting limited editions of the “FAMILY” carpet and the mobile decoration “BAILE”, as well as the NUBE and DUO earrings or the necklace CAN, which blends the universes of the two creators.

The rug “ FAMILY” and the decoration mobile “BAILE” will be exhibited at ARCO  Lunch, during the Contemporary Art Fair ARCO 2017.

Rafa Macarrón is Madrid painter considered one of the youngest Spanish artists with the greatest international projection. His passion for painting has been flowing through his genes for several generations: his parents, art collectors, and his great-uncle, portraitist of kings, knew how to show him the beauty in art since he was just a child. His first memory goes back to when he was four years old, when during a trip to Paris, discovered the work of Picasso and Dubuffet, so he began to create his own pictorial world.

Macarrón creates unique characters who claim the full attention of each work and that embody at once the universal and the unrepeatable.
With a defined style and language, his painting is fluid, fresh and harmonious. Influenced by the comic, the Spanish painting of the 50s and 60s, the work of Dubuffet, Fraile, Matta or Quirós, Macarrón becomes a reference of the painting on our time.

Winner of the first BMW paint award in 2011, he has been introduced in several countries and participated in numerous international Art Fairs, such as Context Art Miami, ARCOmadrid, Zona Maco, ArtBo, Art Miami or Art Moscow.
